Philadelphia University,  founded in 1884, is an accredited, private institution of higher learning offering more than 40 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.  Philadelphia University offers a career-oriented education that blends liberal and professional studies in a way that enables students to grow as individuals and as highly skilled designers, business leaders, architects, health care professionals and scientists. Philadelphia University is a dynamic institution focused on providing students with an education that is not only appropriate to the challenges of today, but in tune with the needs of tomorrow. Academic programs encompass textiles, architecture, design, business, fashion, physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, midwifery, and the sciences. The tree-lined, 100-acre campus is located on the edge of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, about a 15-minute drive from Center City.

HOUSING
More than 1,100 students can be accommodated in University housing, which includes single-sex and co-ed residence halls, townhouses and on-campus apartments. On-campus housing is available on a first come, first-served basis and is available using a point-priority system for upperclassmen.  60% of students live on campus and 25% commute from home. Students with at least 30 credits may keep a car on campus.

ACTIVITIES
There are approximately 30 social, cultural, professional, religious and special interest groups at the University, including two national social fraternities and one national social sorority, a professional textile fraternity and a professional business fraternity, student government, planning board, student newspaper, radio station, yearbook and others.

SPORTS
The University offers 12 intercollegiate sports competing at the NCAA Division II level with the exception of men's soccer, which competes in Division I.  Facilities include two gyms, a fitness center, six tennis courts, three athletic fields and a student recreation room.

Philadelphia University confers B.S. and B. Architectural Studies/M.B.A. Joint Program, Graphic Design Communication, Industrial Design, Interior Design, E-Design); The School of Business Administration (Accounting, Business and Science, E-Commerce, Fashion Merchandising, Finance, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems (MIS), Marketing, Textile Management/Marketing, B.S. for Health Services Management, Five-year B.S. Business/M.B.A. Joint Program); The School of General Studies; The School of Science and Health (Biochemistry, Biology, Biopsychology, Chemistry, Chemistry/Applied Science, Computer Science, Physician Assistant (5-year M.S.), Pre-Medicine, Psychology); The School of Textiles and Materials Technology (Fashion Apparel Management, Fashion Design, Textile Design, Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Five-Year B.S. Fashion/Apparel Management/M.S. Fashion/Apparel Studies Joint Program, Five-Year B.S. Textile Technology/M.B.A. Joint Program).  Continuing Studies (B.S. in Organizational Leadership, B.S. for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant). Center City Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey, Central and Western Pa
Take the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) to the Lincoln Drive exit. Follow Lincoln Drive to Gypsy Lane (first right, old, yellow Victorian hotel, now a police station). Gypsy Lane (steep hill up) will end at School House Lane. Turn left on School House Lane to Henry Avenue (first traffic light).

Delaware County
Take City Line Avenue (Route 1 North) to Lincoln Drive. Follow above directions from Center City Philadelphia.

Washington, Baltimore and Wilmington
Take I-95 North to I-76 West. Follow above directions from Center City Philadelphia.

Northeast Extension — Pennsylvania Turnpike
Exit Turnpike at Norristown, Plymouth Meeting (Exit #25). Go right after the exit and head east on Germantown Pike to first traffic light. Make a right onto Chemical Road and proceed to Ridge Pike (fourth traffic light). Make a left and take Ridge Pike to the Henry Avenue cutoff (bear left). Take Henry Avenue to School House Lane (approximately 6 miles).

New York
Take New Jersey Turnpike to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 6). Exit Pennsylvania Turnpike at Norristown, Plymouth Meeting (Exit #25). Follow above directions from Northeast Extension.
