Chestnut Hill College was founded in 1924 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph as a Catholic liberal-arts college. While remaining faithful to our mission of excellence in the liberal arts, we also maintain a keen awareness of and commitment to the changing global community in which we exist. The College offers both undergraduate and advanced degree programs.

HOUSING
Four hundred students can be accommodated in college housing, which includes single-sex dormitories. Seventy percent of students live on campus; of those, 60% remain on campus on weekends. Alcohol is not permitted. All students may keep cars.

ACTIVITIES
There are 27 groups on campus, including art, chorale, chorus, drama, ethnic, environmental, honors, international, jazz band, literary magazine, newspaper, opera, orchestra, political, professional, religious, social, social service, string ensemble, student government, wellness, wind ensemble, and yearbook. Popular campus events include International Gourmet Day, Holiday Decorating, "Hillstock," and Family Weekend.

SPORTS
Women's intercollegiate sports offered, *field hockey, volleyball, tennis, basketball, softball, soccer, and *golf. Men's intercollegiate sports offer, *soccer, *tennis, *golf, *lacrosse, and basketball.

PROGRAMS OF STUDY
CHC confers B.A. and B.S. degrees. Associate, masters and doctoral degrees are also awarded. Bachelor's degrees are awarded in BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE (biochemistry, biology/biological science, and molecular biology), BUSINESS (accounting, business administration and management, and marketing), COMMUNICATIONS AND THE ARTS (art history and appreciation, communications technology, English, French, Spanish), COMPUTER AND PHYSICAL SCIENCE (chemistry, computer science, and mathematics), EDUCATION (early childhood and elementary), ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (environmental science), SOCIAL SCIENCE (economics, history, political science/government, psychology, and sociology). Education, biological sciences, and psychology are the largest.

DIRECTIONS TO CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE
It is easy to reach Chestnut Hill College from the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Route 309, the "Blue Route," the Schuylkill Expressway and Germantown Pike.

From Walt Whitman/ Benjamin Franklin Bridge
Take 76 west to 476 North to Exit 19 Germantown Pike east. Make a right at the light onto Germantown Pike. The College is 4 miles on the left.

From Pennsylvania Turnpike
Exit No.25 (Germantown Pike). Proceed four miles east on Germantown Pike to the College entrance, which is on the left immediately after the light at Northwestern Avenue.

From Route 309
Proceed south on 309 to Paper Mill Road. Go West on Paper Mill Road and continue straight on to Stenton Ave. Follow Stenton to Northwestern Ave. Turn left onto Northwestern and proceed to Germantown Avenue. The college is on your left. Turn left on Germantown Avenue and proceed a short distance to the College Entrance which is on your left.

From the Blue Route - Route 476
Exit at Germantown Pike-East (Exit 19). Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto Germantown Pike and proceed four miles to the College. Entrance is on the left, immediately after the light at Northwestern Avenue.

From the Philadelphia International Airport
Take I-95 South to Rt. 476 North (Blue Route) and follow the directions above for the Blue Route.

From Wilmington/West Chester
Take Rt. 202 North to 76 East to Rt. 476 (Blue Route) and follow the directions above for the Blue Route.

By Train
Chestnut Hill College is also accessible by train. Both the Chestnut Hill East (R7) and the Chestnut Hill West (R8) Lines serve Chestnut Hill from Center City and 30th Street Station. Chestnut Hill East (R7) also provides service from Trenton, N.J., and Northeast Philadelphia. If using the R7 (Chestnut Hill East), walk two blocks down Chestnut Hill Avenue to Germantown Avenue. Take the "L" Bus marked "Plymouth Mall" one mile west to the College entrance.
